Voice Usage Policy

Understand how Fish Voice treats original synthetic styles, recognizable real-person or fictional-character imitations, cloning permission, and removal reports.
Jul 3, 2026

The applicable rule depends on the kind of voice selected. Original synthetic voices have a broader permitted-use baseline, while styles recognizable as real people or fictional characters carry disclosure, impersonation, endorsement, and rights restrictions.

Choose the Correct Voice Category

Before generation, identify whether the style is original, imitates a real person, imitates a fictional character, or is a private clone. The category determines which rules below apply.

Original synthetic styles

Original synthetic voices are styles that are not built around an identifiable person or character. A style not modeled on an identifiable person or character may be used in personal and commercial projects. That permission remains subject to your plan limits and the Terms of Service.

Disclosure requirement

When published audio imitates a recognizable voice, you must label it as AI-generated. The label must not be used as a way to imply that prohibited impersonation or endorsement is allowed.

Community styles that imitate real people

A community style identified as imitating a public figure is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or recorded by that person. You are responsible for the legality of what you publish.

Permitted uses are limited to:

  • Parody, satire, and commentary when a reasonable listener would not confuse the audio with a real statement by that person.
  • Clearly labeled creative experiments and drafts.

You must not use such a style to:

  • Impersonate the person or claim that generated audio is a statement they actually made.
  • Suggest sponsorship or endorsement of a product, service, or cause.
  • Harass, defame, or deceive anyone, or bypass an identity-verification system.
  • Deliver political, medical, or financial messaging in that person’s voice.

Voice-imitation rules differ between jurisdictions. You are responsible for the legality of what you publish.

Community styles that imitate fictional characters

Fish Voice is not connected to the owner of a franchise represented by an imitative style. Fan work, parody, and prototypes are the intended settings for fictional-character styles. For commercial use, check the rights holder’s rules first.

An AI-generated label does not grant a license to a franchise, character, performance, or other protected material.

Cloning a voice

The voice cloning process is permission-based: only clone voices you own or have written permission to clone. Cloning another person without that consent breaches the Terms of Service and may also breach applicable law.

Requesting removal

If a catalog style imitates you or a character you own, request removal through the contact page. Include a link to the voice so the team can identify and review it promptly.
